AKA-SF Stance on Racial Justice

AKA-SF stands in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement acknowledging the long and arduous history that has enslaved Black Americans. We recognize that not being racist isn’t enough and that we must go further to be anti-racist. Understanding our own constructs of proximity to the white community challenges us and creates opportunities to learn, as well as unlearn, our own shortcomings in fostering true allyship.

AKA-SF is committed to develop programming to promote learning and growth around our understanding of racial histories, inequities, and justice issues. We are at different points in our personal journeys around these topics, but we will strive to work together and grow. If you would like to support our efforts in this area, please reach out to us in our Facebook group or directly email us at info@aka-sf.org and we will be happy to discuss collaboration on resources, virtual events, etc.
